Kristin Hansen
MS, APRN, AGPCNP-BC, PMHNP-BC
Kristin Hansen of Hansen Psychiatric Wellness PLLC, provides holistic psychiatric mental health care to patients 18 years of age and older. Care can include fine-tuning psychiatric diagnoses, providing brief therapy, and prescribing psychiatric medication, when appropriate.
Kristin became a registered nurse after graduating from the University of Vermont's BSN program in 1993. She obtained her master's degree from UMass Chan Medical School's Tan Chingfen Graduate School of nursing in the Adult-gerontological Primary Care Nurse Practitioner (AGPCNP) track in 2013. She obtained a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) post master's certificate from the University of New Hampshire in 2021.
Kristin has worked in primary care, gastroenterology, college health, and inpatient and outpatient behavioral health and addiction medicine. Her areas of interest/expertise include mood and anxiety disorders, obsessive compulsive disorder, post-traumatic stress disorder, insomnia, addiction, and attention deficit disorder.
Kristin maintains dual AGPCNP/PMHNP board certifications with the American Nurses Credentialing Center which allows her to practice in both medical and psychiatric settings. Her experience allows her to view her patients' mental health concerns through both a psychiatric as well as a medical lens. During her many years practicing nursing in varying capacities, Kristin has always believed in treating her patients with kindness, respect and authenticity. She appreciates the value that comes from partnering with her patients to holistically work together towards identified health goals.
In her spare time, Kristin enjoys spending time with her family and her golden doodle, Hazel, as well as baking, hiking, kayaking and gardening.
